Caroline Goemans-Dorny

Caroline Goemans-Dorny took office as the INTERPOL Data Protection Officer (IDPO) in January 2016.

Prior to her appointment as IDPO, Caroline worked as Senior Advisor at the Office of Legal Affairs of INTERPOL.  In that capacity she advised on data protection issues and carried out the coordination of INTERPOL’s participation in a number of EU funded research projects (SMART, RESPECT, EVIDENCE, SIIP, E-CRIME, MAPPING). Prior to joining INTERPOL, she worked as a scientific researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Law and IT (ICRI), University of Louvain (Belgium). She also practised at the Bar of Antwerp (Belgium) and served as Secretary General of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), which is acting as liaison body with the European Institutions.
